You live in society among people. If you had lived alone in an island, you would have not needed a formula for social living. When you are all alone, you need not take excuses against others. When you are with people, you will have excuses to not do something. But in social life if you take excuses, others too will take excuses. Social life is full of excuses. This will not be so only if you don't take any excuse. You may have an attitude to take excuses all the time.  Family life is full of excuses. To say 'I want this' or 'I don’t want that' -- is not workable at all. If you don't take excuses, you will be able to work. Your energy and time will not be wasted. I never make an excuse an excuse. I always avoid excuses. If a person wants to work, this is the method he must follow. If a person continues to take excuses, he will not be able to work. 
The hadith says: Copy Arabic text (Sahih al-Bukhari 6412)

This means that a person is in deception about his health and time. He thinks he would do a certain work when he has time. He makes his health and time excuses. In the end, he doesn’t do anything. A person can neither have ideal health nor free time in the ideal sense. In this world, we don’t have the option to give excuses.
